International Resources Group (IRG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Engility Corporation, seeks a Climate Change Adaptation and Development Specialist under the USAID-funded Climate Change Resilient Development (CCRD) project to lead, support, and/or provide management oversight for technical assistance, development of knowledge management products, and capacity building and training related to climate change adaptation in developing countries. The successful candidate will join IRG/Engility's ENR Division as a Manager or Senior Manager (depending on experience) and will work on a range of climate change adaptation and development topics. The incumbent should be available to make four to five international trips per year and can expect to spend one to two months total overseas per year. This is a full-time, project-dedicated position.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Chief of Party, the Deputy Chief of Party, and other staff and consultants on the Climate Change Resilient Development project, funded by USAID with technical leadership provided by USAID's Global Climate Change Office in the Bureau for Economic Development, Education and Environment in Washington, DC.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide quality assurance/quality control for all CCRD technical outputs, including climate adaptation guidance, policy briefs, case studies, lessons learned and white papers, training materials, and knowledge management/communications submitted to USAID and/or posted to one or more of the websites supported by CCRD.
• Lead or contribute to CCRD technical assistance tasks implemented by multiple partners, staff, and consultants.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of training in climate adaptation topics for USAID, USAID's implementing partners, and practitioners in developing countries.
• Prepare and present guidance, policy, and research papers at CCRD-organized conferences and workshops and selected international climate adaptation conferences and workshops.
• Engage in CCRD strategic planning, preparation of annual work plans, and quarterly and annual technical reports.
• Assist in writing or reviewing CCRD technical scopes of work for IRG/Engility staff and consultants and CCRD subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in relevant field, e.g. climatology, atmospheric science, public policy, economics or other social science, environmental sciences, geography, etc.
• For Manager level, five (5) or more years of experience; for Senior Manager level, ten (10) or more years of experience.
• Developing country experience is highly preferred.
• Native English or equivalent, demonstrated strong writing and speaking skills.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Proficiency in Spanish or French is desired but not required for the position.
