Work Experience:

Demonstrable experiences in managing and implementing Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programs, international experiences required; additional experiences in Bangaladesh as well as experiences with ECHO programs would be an asset

Educational Qualification:

Master degree preferably with honors in Sociology/ Social welfare/ Social work/ Anthropology/ Economics/ Public Administration/ or/ Development Studies from any recognized University.

Job responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage the DipEcho Caritas DRR programme in Khulna and ensuring cross programme learning with other DRR programmes of Caritas in Bangladesh and other development programs in Khulna region
  • PM should link the DipEcho project activities with the activities that are being implemented by Caritas’ long term program.
  • At the field level, the PM will be in charge to manage and coordinate the implementation including the financial management (budget) aspects.
  • PM will also report suggestions of changes from the field level back to the National Office if such changes are crucial for project implementation.
  • PM is responsible for timely delivery of all the services and completion of all project implementations under his/ her jurisdiction.
  • While implementing the project, the PM will have to ensure that all the interventions conform to globally acknowledged standards and goals (HFA, MDGs, Sphere, etc)
  • A key responsibility of the PM will be the human resource management and guidance to ensure that the project staff promotes community participation and community decisions in all the project strategies and implementation.
  • PM ensures that cross-cutting issues are accounted for while alleviating cyclone risks and while preparing communities to face similar disasters. The PM will work closely with experts from the Technical Partners of NARRI and DISHARI Consortium.
  • PM is responsible to assure the submission of high quality activity and progress reports at regular intervals as stipulated by the National Director i.e. Director, Disaster Management and Development (D, DMD).
  • PM will be in regular contact with ECHO representatives and other Partner Organizations
