GIZ International Services in consortium with EUNIDA is preparing a proposal for an up-coming EC-funded project: Promoting Regional ASEAN’s Early Warning Capabilities and Strengthening the Links between 24/7 situation rooms.
Your tasks
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Knowledge Management expert (KM) will be responsible for:
- developing, supporting and facilitating knowledge and information management related to implementation of the project, including documentation of all key activities and learning points under the project and producing knowledge products accordingly in order to facilitate replication of good practices and learning;
- identify, develop and implement modules for capacity development activities, including training, seminars and workshops for AHA Centre and ASEAN member states through a comprehensive consultation process with appropriate stakeholders to ensure that the modules identified/ adapted and/or developed are based on current policies and needs in the AHA Centre.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills:
- Advanced university degree (Masters degree) in Social Science, Development, Disaster Management, Management, Public Administration, even though other specialisations, or equivalent experience, shall also be considered in so far as they are related to the tasks to be performed;.
- Sound understanding of the cross-cultural diversity in the ASEAN region and ability to manage cross cultural communication;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. An ASEAN language would be a distinct advantage;
- Ability to develop comprehensive curriculum by consultation with various stakeholders, including a variety of written materials for audiences with different levels of understanding of the material or subject matter;
- Sound mastery to store, manage, retrieve and disseminate information effectively using appropriate information systems;
- Good knowledge and understanding of information and communications technology;
- Sound understanding of the regional knowledge, relevant information, and ability to connect the concepts to the practices and application on disaster management issues;
- Sound understanding of concepts, knowledge and issues on the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER).
General professional experience:
Preferably five (5) years of international experience in organizing training, workshops and exercises in the field of disaster management in an international organization, related institutions and/or private sector.
Specific professional experience:
Experience in dealing with ASEAN and other institutions involved in disaster management will be an asset; - Experience in managing a broad range of activities dealing with various international organizations and related institutions.
