The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES) is an international and intergovernmental organization, owned and managed by its Member States. RIMES provides regional early warning services and builds capacity of its Member States in the end-to-end early warning of tsunami and hydro-meteorological hazards.
Position Description
Provide computing and IT support for RIMES Hydro-meteorological Research and Development Support Unit. Major duties and responsibilities include maintenance and further development of RIMES regional data sharing infrastructure, server management, technical assistance to National Meteorological and Hydrological Services of RIMES Member States, and support to RIMES applied research.

• Monthly base salary negotiable, commensurate with qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge: Master’s degree in technology, specialized in computer science/ engineering
Experience: At least 3 years experience in mainframe computing servers; experience in hardware and software of the Unix environment; experience in computer networking and security; experience in Unix/ Linux operating systems and system programming.
Skills and Abilities: Good programming skills and experience in Fortran, C+, and shell scripts; demonstrated ability to plan and organize application work independently; excellent English proficiency in communication, presentation, and report writing.
