National Alliance for Risk Reduction and Response Initiative (NARRI) is a consortium of INGOs working on Disaster Risk Reduction and Response in Bangladesh. It comprises of eight prominent and experienced INGOs and two reputed technical partners namely ActionAid Bangladesh, Care International, Concern Universal, Concern Worldwide, Islamic Relief Bangladesh, Oxfam, Plan International and Solidarités International with two technical partners: HelpAge International and Handicap International.

NARRI consortium members have been implementing Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Preparedness through number of projects funded by ECHO along with all other ECHO partners in different countries of South Asia. Throughout the years, there have been many best practices and success stories and life changing events experienced and faced by different beneficiaries receiving support from ECHO Partners. Many communities, families and individuals have been benefited and survived from the recent natural disasters due to the support and knowledge they have gained from the projects.

The 2015 – 2016 the South Asia Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience Action Plan funded by ECHO aims to establish greater collaboration and coordination between partners, allowing programming of common outcomes, harmonization of practices and institutionalization of the model. Furthermore, it focuses on improving communication and dissemination of DRR key contributions in the region, by capturing evidence of success on how the projects have allowed the most at risk communities to anticipate, withstand, adapt and sometimes, recover quickly from disasters.

One component of this Action Plan is to hold Lesson Learned Workshop under the framework of DP/DRR/ Resilience Programme for South Asia 2015-2016. It is being organized by NARRI jointly with other ECHO partners in South Asia. The purpose of the workshop is to share and gather achievements and experiences made during the implementation phase of the 2015-2016 HIPs in South Asia as well as to identify the areas of focus for future DP/DRR/Resilience strategy and new emerging topics and priorities with the linkage to the Sendai Framework for DRR.

This workshop will gather all ECHO partners in South Asia involved in the implementation of the activities related to the 2015-2016 HIPs such as Action Contre La Faim (ACF), BBC Media Action, German Red Cross, Hope87, AfghanAid, and Save the Children jointly with members of NARRI Consortium like ActionAid Bangladesh, CARE, Concern Universal, Concern Worldwide, Handicap International, Islamic Relief Bangladesh, Oxfam, Plan International and Solidarités International.

For that reason, NARRI is looking for an experienced facilitator to facilitate the workshop with functional knowledge and professional experience in the field of disaster risk reduction, resilience, climate change, and/or sustainable development; and knowledgeable of the programme carried out by the ECHO and its partners in South Asia, intergovernmental mechanisms, DRR Platforms, tools and mechanisms related to DRR and DIPECHO Action Plans and DIPECHO projects particularly in South Asia.
