With the financial support of the UK Department for International Development, International Alert is seeking a qualified organisation or individual(s) to implement qualitative research in Mali starting from March 2018.

We are undertaking a multi-country research programme that aims to build an evidence base on peacebuilding-related issues to inform programmatic and policy practices. The programme consists of multiple countries and thematic areas.

In Mali, the programme will build an evidence base of conflicts related to natural resources (of land, water and forests) in the Sikasso region, and aims to identify measures for resolving and containing these in a peaceful and equitable way.

We are looking for an experienced consultant to conduct this research. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of peacebuilding and natural resource management in Mali – ideally in the Sikasso region.

For further details of the assignment and requirements, please read the Terms of Reference on our website.

We encourage applications from individuals, consultancies, non-governmental organisations, research organisations and think tanks who meet the above listed requirements to conduct the research starting in March 2018.

We especially encourage applications from Mali nationals/residents or West African residents. We will consider applicants who are not living in Mali or West Africa provided they include information in their application on how they will manage the logistics of the research tasks from abroad.
