The College of Indigenous Futures, Arts and Society (CIFAS) is centred around people and cultures, and was established to deliver teaching across rich and diverse areas such as Humanities and Social Science; Indigenous Futures; Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management; Languages and Linguistics; Creative Arts and Design; and encompasses the public policy research of The Northern Institute. 

As a Lecturer in Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management Studies, you will work with other academic staff of the theme and other key stakeholders to implement the curriculum and promote the full suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the discipline. Central to this particular role is the oversight and delivery of the Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies (BHCS) course.

The College is entering a new era of growth having secured several new research and partnership projects, and an education pathway will be explored to possibly offer further opportunities in humanitarian, emergency and disaster management studies from VET to Higher Education, and as such, courses will undergo review and redevelopment to meet the evolving needs of the theme and accreditation process.

Qualifications

To be successful you need PhD level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, however consideration may be given to applicants having a Masters degree with substantial professional experience. Experience in curriculum and course development, and in under/post graduate teaching and the supervision of research students is essential. A history of deployment in the field will be highly regarded.
