3rd National emergency management summit
An extraordinary confluence of events, both environmental and geopolitical, has coalesced to create a heightened risk and heightened awareness of natural disasters, epidemics and terrorism in the United States. The National Emergency Management Summit seeks to assess these risks and articulate practical approaches to strategies for planning, response and recovery.
Summit presenters represent the best in their field, from academia to government to the front lines of relief and recovery. For 2009, the National Emergency Management Summit also includes two outstanding pre-conference workshops - one on planning and evaluating hospital disaster drills, and a special Emergency Management 101 for individuals new to the field - and a post-conference Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) preparatory exam course and qualifying examination.
