The Third Annual Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) will be held in Barbados on December 8-12, 2008, under the theme “CDM - A Catalyst for Change”. The Conference will be hosted by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA) in association with its partners, and is the annual, signature disaster management forum in the Caribbean.

The Conference targets a wide ranging audience including experts and practitioners of disciplines and fields that impact on disaster risk reduction - public and private sector entities, NGOs, emergency management and researchers and development partners.

This year the Conference will highlight the changing face of disaster risk management. It will also address global humanitarian reform and the implications for national and regional response operations. The Conference will also focus on building commitment for and promoting the goals of CDM.

Disaster management products, information and education materials will be showcased by national, regional and international agencies as well as commercial companies.
