This international workshop and training aim to build capacity and improve knowledge on managing and financing rural transport.

A. 8 day workshop:

The workshop will be delivered into the blocks of subject matters:

1. Planning and Management
The workshop started with introduction and overview on transport and MDGs issues. Institutional and policy considerations will also be discussed for defining rural transport service and formulating rural transport planning. It includes organization of networks as well as management and prioritization of transport networks. GIS and Remote Sensing application will be introduced to support rural transport planning and management.

2. Financing
To deal with financing rural transport infrastructure, an economic investment modelling for rural transport infrastructure provision and maintenance will be discussed to enable rural infrastructure manager to sustain the service.

3. Cross‐cutting Issues
Country specific cross cutting such as climate change, disaster prevention and management, mobility and health as well as gender specific problems will also be discussed.

B. 2 day site visit
- Site visit to Community Driven Development (CDD) Project.
- Site visit to Evacuation Route of Merapi Mountain.

C. Yogyakarta City Tour (Malioboro, Keraton, Taman Sari, Borobudur Temple, Batik shop).
