State Academy of Crisis Management (CMA), UNICEF, Save the Children and World Vision in collaboration with the Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform will hold an event “Women and Girls are the inVisible Force of Resilience” on 13 October 2012. The event will take place in the premises of the State Academy of Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The event is dedicated to the International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) and aims at increasing the understanding of gender concerns in DRR process, encouraging women and girls to get involved, as well as to respect and develop their disaster resilience capacities in Armenia. The event will also invite public attention to issues that hinder participation of children with disabilities in DRR activities.

Activities to be held on the IDDR day will include rescue drills, car accident simulation and presentation of rescue and fire safety equipment by students of CMA.
