2nd ANDROID conference
The annual Android Conference gives us all a great opportunity to be informed about the progress of the work that has been going on in the different work packages of the project and to discuss and exchange ideas and views on disaster resilience. These are highly valuable gatherings, bringing together experts from 64 European institutions from 24 EU countries as well as 3 institutions from non-EU countries (Canada, Australia, Sri-Lanka), as well as a representative of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR).
ANDROID aims to promote co-operation and innovation among European Higher Education Institutes (HEI) to increase society's resilience to disasters of human and natural origin.
The programme includes three selected scientific papers from the RDS:
Tran Tuan Anh, Vietnam: Post-disaster housing reconstruction as a significant opportunity to building disaster resilience - a case in Vietnam
Daniel Asare - Kyei, Ghana: Participatory approaches to develop indicators for multiple risk assessment linking different scales in West African social-ecological systems under climate change
Ahoo Salem, Iran: Social inequalities and vulnerability to natural hazards: Case of Afghn women in Tehran
