State Level Conference under Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (HVRA) Himachal Pradesh Project
The Department of Revenue of Himachal Pradesh, Disaster Management Cell, in association with TARU Leading Edge is organizing a conference for state level stakeholder departments. the objective is to disseminate the findings of the Hazard, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (HVRA) project to the field level functionaries.
The HVRA of Himachal Pradesh was entrusted to TARU. The objective of the assessment is to quantify disaster risk levels, their distribution within the state and associated causal factors to guide in disaster risk reduction and mitigation efforts.
The conference will be attended by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmaar University of Horticulture and Forestry; Vice Chancellor, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University; Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi; Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Hamirpur; Director, Central Water Commission, Snow Hydrology Division; Director, Indian Meteorological Department; Commission, Municipal Corporation, Shimla; State Project Director, Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan; Director, Snow Avalanche and Study Establishment (SASE); Director of Cooperation, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation; Scientist, GB Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development.
The HVRA Atlas will be inaugurated by Shri D.D Sharma, Special Secretary Revenue, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
After this state level conference, a series of training workshops will be conducted by TARU.
