Second Scientific Seminar of the Knowledge Centre for Disaster Risk Management: Science for Policy and Operations
The Seminar looks at the science-policy interface in disaster risk management. The two-day gathering will review progress in using science for implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, in particular in EU countries.
Practitioners and authorities will be able to discuss the challenges they face to respond to the Sendai Framework and exploit solutions from science. It is an opportunity to identify needs for scientific research as well as results that are ready to be applied.
Target Audience
The Seminar aims to gather around 100 inter-disciplinary experts on disaster management, early detection, forecasting, warning and risk assessment of natural and man-made disasters. Participants come from science, public and private organisations.
