IDDR - CABARET Project: Capacity building in Asia for resilience education
A consortium of Higher Education Institutions is organising a series of events to mark the IDDR as part of the CABARET ERASMUS + Project.
The objective of the project is to increase disaster resilience among coastal communities and to improve multi-hazard early warning (MHEW) in Asia, through international and regional cooperation between Higher Education Institutes (HEI) in Asia and Europe, and among Asian HEIs themselves.
During a series of events held by partners in Asia and Europe, special attention will be paid to the IDDR 2018 and the 7 targets of the Sendai Framework to raise global awareness to reduce exposure to disaster risk at the community level thereby contributing to saving homes and livelihoods.
Participating partners include:
- Global Disaster Resilience Centre, University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom
- Environmental Hydraulics Institute, Universidad de Cantabria, Spain
- University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka
- Mining and Geology University, Bulgaria
- De La Salle University, Phillipines
