Literacy: Urban resilience trainings
This InFocus document elaborates on the challenges, solutions and lessons learned from these urban resilience trainings. Urban resilience and disaster risk management (DRM) trainings are particularly important in cities such as Accra, Ghana, where recent floods and fires have had devastating impacts. Trainings that use a participatory approach enable trainees to develop customised solutions for the risks they identify in their own jurisdiction.
Therefore, within the project "Developing Risk Management Approaches for Climate Risks", the Strategic Partnership between the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Allianz Reinsurance jointly organised training workshops for selected public sector workers from municipalities in Accra, as well as various further stakeholders.
