This study will focus on understanding the relevance and influence of gender dynamics on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) measures in specific geographic areas in Central Asia where Switzerland is engaged in development cooperation through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the State Secretariat for Economy (SECO).

The Study aims:

  • To garner practical insights that are useful to rendering Switzerland’s and partners’ work in the areas of DRM and CCA more gender-sensitive; and
  • To explore the potential for DRM and CCA activities to have a gender-transformative impact.

The study will focus on the three countries in which Switzerland is engaged with a development programme: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Application requirements

The applications should be submitted to Sonya Elmer Dettelbacher (sonya.elmer@eda.admin.ch) no later than by May 22. The application should comprise the following three parts:

  • Proposal - decription of how the study will be undertaken and the team composition
  • CVs of proposed team members
  • Budget: financial proposal
