Case studies in adaptation finance
The objective of this paper is to demonstrate how places and institutions are adapting to climate change and mobilising the finance this requires. It provides a series of case studies, which illustrate how adaptation works and is financed in practice. The publication showcases innovative finance and practicial adaptation solutions, but also highlight pitfalls and structural challenges.
This publication forms the chair’s report for the Independent Expert Advisory Group convened by the CCC to support its work on the Investment for a well-adapted UK report. This group was commissioned to provide independent review, critique and advice to the CCC during the course of this work programme. The group served in their capacity as individuals with relevant expertise as opposed to representatives of their affiliated institutions. The report takes the form of a set of case studies, complemented by a set of cross-cutting insights and recommendations.
