The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is a multi-stakeholder platform with a global secretariat led by CIFOR and core funding provided by the Government of Germany. The GLF accelerates action towards the creation of productive, prosperous, equitable and climate-resilient landscapes and the achievement of the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030).
The Forum shares a positive vision of what the world’s diverse landscapes – from the Andean Mountains to the peatlands of the Democratic Republic of Congo to the everyday places where people live, work and raise their children – could look like if everyone were to work together.
The GLF is a movement that puts communities first in addressing landscape-level issues. With science and traditional knowledge at the core, GLF outreach, events and projects are designed not only to spark dialogue, but also to address some of the most complex and multi-stakeholder problems facing the earth and communities. Adopting a holistic approach, the Forum is ultimately founded on four principles, aiming to engage 1 billion people: connecting, sharing, learning and acting.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
