DCist is the unofficial homepage of the District. DCist cover what matters to Washingtonians, whether that’s the latest piece of legislation before the D.C. Council or the best thing to order at the new restaurant around the corner.
Local volunteers launched DCist in 2004 under the umbrella of Gothamist, a New York-based blog. For years, it was a passion project, largely written by Washingtonians who yearned to see more dynamic coverage of the city. Over the next decade, it morphed from a volunteer-run blog into a professional digital news outlet that routinely broke stories and punched above its weight.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
