Disaster Risk Financing in Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories: Building financial resilience to natural hazards
This brief presents a program in the Caribbean, whose objective was to enhance the long term resilience and adaptation capacity of Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) to extreme and recurrent natural hazards to the benefit of the most vulnerable.
Specifically, this was accomplished by supporting the development of innovative DRF options; capacity building within OCTs on the use of existing risk transfer mechanisms, like the Caribbean CatastropheRisk Insurance Facility Segregated Portfolio Company (CCRIF SPC); and working with OCTs to promote informed decision-making on DRF.
