Principles to guide investment in support of community resilience
As the need grows for adaptation measures planned and implemented at the local level, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has developed the Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) to support strengthening climate resilience in Asia and the Pacific through scaling up investment in climate adaptation, especially at the community level, that explicitly addresses the nexus between climate, gender, and poverty. Investments supported by the CRPP will aim to tackle the root causes of vulnerability to facilitate transformational changes to the lives, livelihoods, and well-being of poor and vulnerable people.
This technical note is one in a series released as part of the operationalization of the CRPP. It presents the context and rationale underpinning the five principles to guide the identification and design of investments promoted by the CRPP to achieve its goals. These five principles account for key lessons captured by large-scale climate adaptation and/or resilience programs implemented globally.
