2023 Achievements of the climate resilience project in Timor-Leste
The main objective of the project is to safeguard vulnerable communities and their physical assets from climate-induced disasters mainly floods, landslides, erosion, and droughts. It aims to address existing institutional, financial, and legislative barriers, increasing the climate resilience of vulnerable small-scale rural infrastructure.
The key results of the project include:
- A Timor Emergency Response System has been established
- Developed 4 sets of national hazard maps covering Timor- Leste for floods, landslide, erosion and drought.
- Established and handed over spatial data infrastructure laboratory in civil protection authority department of secretary state of civil protection
