Doshisha University is a university consisting of 14 faculties and 16 graduate schools, which originated from Doshisha Eigakko (Academy) established in Kyoto in 1875. Inheriting the passion for education of its founder, Jo Niijima, for 150 years, the University has continued to cultivate “those who use their abilities as conscience dictates” based on the founding spirit of “education of conscience” and to send out into society people who are active in various fields, including economics, politics, religion, education, and social services.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
