UNESCO guidelines for assessing learning facilities in the context of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation: Volume 1-3
These are the UNESCO Guidelines on the VISUS methodology developed by SPRINT researchers, that permits to assess the safety of school facilities at regional scale, with the purpose of supporting the definition of pragmatic safety upgrading strategies.
Volume 1 contextualizes the concept of school safety and showcases its relevance in the various frameworks contributing to the Global 2030 Agenda. It provides decision-makers with clear understanding of the outcomes of the implementation of the VISUS methodology. Volume 2 explains the theoretical aspects of the VISUS methodology, and presents in its annexes the rules and criteria that are the basis for assessment and evaluation. Volume 3 explains the phases of VISUS implementation and presents in its annexes the tools developed for it.
