This course provides a scientific understanding of the causes and effects of natural environmental hazards such as earthquakes, hurricanes and floods, which can have devastating consequences for people around the world. It aims to equip the students with the technical skills needed to monitor, manage and mitigate environmental hazards and disasters. The Course is intended for those who seek to obtain or advance a career in hazard or risk management, environmental monitoring, emergency planning and catastrophe-related mitigation.

High school or senior secondary graduation with minimum 240 Points, including two A-levels or equivalent. One A-level or equivalent Science subject required. General Studies are normally not accepted. GCSE (A-C)- Mathematics and English. University also considers a range of alternative qualifications or experience.

For full-time course, students are required to apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), UK. Part Time students can apply directly to the University; prospective students will be called for a personal interview.
Along with maintenance loan and grant, several bursaries are also available.
