Description
The main focus of the programme is on preparedness for man-made and natural disaster events, including biological, chemical and radiological terrorist attacks, with a particular focus on psychosocial and mental health aspects post disaster, so we will have that feature of environmental health science as well. The MPH in disaster management is more practice oriented, and requires a capstone in practice rather than research.

Admission requirement
- A complete SOPHAS application
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Official transcripts from all academic work (send to SOPHAS)
- A strong undergraduate record with a grade point average of 3.0 or better in the major subject
- Three letters of recommendation (send to SOPHAS electronically or by mail)
- GRE, GMAT, or MCAT scores for appropriate programs (send to SOPHAS)
- Written statement of career goals (in SOPHAS application)
- Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores for applicants from non-English speaking nations with a minimum score of 570-573 on the paper-based test, 230 on the computer based test, or 88-89 on the internet-based test (Send to SOPHAS)
- Foreign nationals must provide certification of adequate funding or a letter of sponsorship from a recognized sponsoring agency in order to obtain a visa.

Application procedure
The school maintains a rolling admission policy for graduate programs at the master's degree level, accepting qualified applicants during fall, spring, and summer terms until the actual start date of classes. All master's level applicants (including joint degree applicants*) should apply through SOPHAS . International students should refer to international admission section for more information.
