Postgraduate diploma in disaster risk management and development studies
The PGD programme is run in at Centre for Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. The programme is run on a full time basis. The duration is a minimum of 3 semesters and a maximum of six semesters.

- Hazards, risks and vulnerability assessment
- Strategic disaster management
- Disaster communication
- Community based DRR
- Climate change and environmental impact assessment
The programme is meant to train middle level manpower in disaster risk management. It is open to Higher National Diploma degree holders and candidates with third class university degrees.
Candidates for admission into the PGD in disaster risk management and development studies should possess the following requirements.
- Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English and Mathematics and any of Geography, Biology and Agric Science plus any two subjects.
- Minimum of Third Class Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Town Planning etc from recognized Institutions.
- Minimum of Lower Credit pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least 3 years of working experience in relevant fields.
- Evidence of National Youth Service (NYSC) discharged certificate or exemption letter.
