Job purpose:

Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction & Emergency Preparedness Project Sr. Officer. The central role of this position is to implement at, district and community level OFDA DRR & EP Grant The primary focus of this position is to ensure that district component of this project is implemented, monitored and compliant with the grant agreement.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide support and coordination to the field staff and other colleagues to ensure that disaster risk reduction project(s) is implemented effectively with high impact according to agreement with donor and state-of-the-art technical quality standards.
• Coordinate and support in preparation, review, and periodic revision of detailed implementation plans for DRR project(s).
• Participate in the ANDMA, government and cluster meeting in the region.
• Prepare project progress reports for the Program/Provincial Manager
• Develop case studies of successes, challenges, and other DRR project experiences to assist organizational learning.
• Contribute in developing provincial and country office emergency preparedness and contingency plans
• Build a productive working relationship with relevant regional government bodies, primarily the branch of ANDMA.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness capacity building activities with other organizations within region.
• Liaise with other departments such Logistics, security, HR and Finance

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Previous experience working on disaster response or disaster risk reduction projects
• Good oral and written english skills
• Proven computer skills in Word, Excel and other MS Office software
• Proven administration skills
• Ability to travel within province & to Kabul.
• Proven project implementation and oversight
• Experience training and facilitation
• Community facilitation skills

Desirable:


• Ability to undertake HVAC’s
• Ability to train on CERT
