Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Communications Manager on an anticipated global project based in Washington, D.C. The goal of SPADE is to provide the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) with a flexible mechanism to provide timely technical services and support. Through the project, USAID will issue requests for studies, research, and analytical support to help BHA strengthen humanitarian response planning.

The Communications Manager will work closely with the Chief of Party and other stakeholders to ensure that project results are clearly communicated and conform to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supports the development, design, and execution of internal and external communications initiatives to ensure effective communication of program progress, successes, and learning to USAID stakeholders and target audiences.
  • Manages and develops program communications materials and products as needed (written, audio, and video), assuring compliance with USAID and Tetra Tech guidelines.
  • With project team, develops regular reports to keep USAID and partners apprised of program activities.
  • Supports social and mass media outreach.
  • Develops communications strategies, products, and tools to disseminate project innovation and information/analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications or a closely related field.
  • Experience working with international technical staff and stakeholders to develop program communications preferred.
  • First-hand familiarity with food security analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical reports into less- or non-technical Work Assignment products, aided by mapping and data visualizations that communicate relationships between key data and household economy concepts, for users of different backgrounds.
  • English fluency is required.
