National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) in The Gambia is committed to reduce local disaster impact and works on humanitarian coordination.

NDMA is now open vacancy for a qualified Gambian/ international consultant or consulting company to The World Bank to do work on integrated disaster risk management activities under the two main themes:

  1. National Risk Assessment and Mapping
  2. Capacity Development of NDMA, decentralized structures and partners in Disaster Risk Reduction.


The consultant or consulting firm is also expected to develop local risk and hazards information system based on Geo-network, Geo-server and post-gresql; possibility of using geo catalogue that displays record of all hazards risk and critical infrastructure information of The Gambia. The successful consultant or consulting company would have to:

  • use server connected at speed more than 200 Mo/second.
  • provide field data collection using locally available mobile technology.
  • able to use the drone for the Post Disaster Impact Assessment (PDIA).
