Disaster risk reduction and livelihood programme coordinator you will ensure the coordination of Malteser International’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Livelihood country programme. As member of the country management team you will work closely with the other members of the country management team and under the overall supervision of the Country Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall coordination and supervision of DRR and Livelihoods projects
  • Initiate and analyse additional assessments regarding DRR, livelihoods and climate change adaptation (CCA) needs in Malteser operational areas and future areas of interest
  • Provide technical lead for project and proposal development in DRR and Livelihood
  • Develop and put into practice appropriate and cost-efficient monitoring tools for DRR and Livelihoods with regard to expected results/ outcomes and indicators as in logframes, work plans, budgets and other relevant project documents.
  • Liaise with national implementing partner NGOs, ensure and supervise monitoring of their projects, canalize their capacities and provide capacity building support.
  • Initiate and analyse (impact) evaluations of DRR and Livelihoods programs
  • Contribute to Malteser International’s country strategy in the areas of DRR and Livelihoods
  • Establish contacts with potential donors in the areas of DRR and Livelihoods
  • Ensure the implementation of Malteser standards in administration, finances and logistics
  • Ensure regular and timely project documentation and reporting according to Malteser and do-nor standards
  • Management and supervision of international and national programme/project staff

Qualifications:

  • Degree (Master’s level preferred) in Development, Disaster Management, Economics, Public Policy/Administration, Climate Sciences or another relevant field (or equivalent practical work experience)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in international relief and development – direct experi-ence implementing DRR and/or Livelihoods programs preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of program management/budget and supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with inter-agency coordination and partner/partnership management
  • M&E/Quality Assurance experience a plus
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a multi-cultural team;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work within Islamic context
  • Excellent writing and computer skills
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of German and/or Urdu, Pashtu is an asset
