Inclusive DRR technical adviser

The technical department of Handicap International (HI) is recruiting his/her technical adviser on inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR), based in Brussels.

Handicap International works in 50 countries in partnership with people with disabilities and other vulnerable populations in situations of extreme poverty and violent conflict.

Requirements:

HI is seeking an experienced (min 5 years) Technical Advisor to develop HI’s expertise on the inclusion of people with disabilities and other marginaled groups in DRR.

Successful candidates are likely to have a solid background in DRR, working with marginalised groups and experience of delivering changeat a strategic policy level.

Language: French and English

Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and promote HI’s policy on Inclusive DRR
• Act as an internal reference and source of expertise on Inclusive DRR, across HI’s sections and field offices
• Promote good practice in relevant HI programmes
• Ensure a balanced portfolio of inclusive DRR projects across HI’s programmes
