Required qualifications and competences
- Master’s degree with relevance to land use modelling (e.g., geography, geoinformatics, spatial planning or natural resource management)
- Interest in the role of demographic change, climate change adaptation/mitigation, political and economic developments for future land use
- Experience in GIS data analysis and/or socio-economic modelling
- Favourable: Experience with the CLUE modelling framework or similar software
- Interest in stakeholder processes
- Ability to work in team settings
- Excellent communications and writing skills in English; knowledge of German an asset
Duties and responsibilities
- Analysis of the interplay between climate change adaptation/mitigation and land use evolution
- Development of storylines for future land use scenarios in co-evolution with changing adaptation/mitigation strategies (regional scale, until 2050)
- Production of GIS datasets, maps etc.
- Active participation in inter- and transdisciplinary exchange within the alpS Centre and externally
- Preparation of a PhD thesis highly encouraged
