This position will be employed by the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the AIDR team. The Knowledge Management Officer role is a newly created position with responsibility for implementing systems and processes to guide the development and maintenance of the Institute’s Knowledge Management Framework and for ensuring the content in the Australian Disaster Resilience Knowledge Hub is reliable, accurate and current. The Knowledge Management Officer will also provide information research support for projects being undertaken within AIDR. Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination and identification of items relating to disasters and disaster resilience
  • Designing, developing and refining search and retrieval processes
  • Managing, measuring and reporting on knowledge management metrics
  • Contribute to Event development based on knowledge management metrics

This hands-on role reports to the Director of the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience and is a great opportunity for someone with experience collaborating with multiple organisations and building partnerships to develop, publish and promote knowledge content. Tertiary qualified, you will be highly organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable. Experience within a member based organisation, not-for-profit or emergency services would be an advantage.
