School/ Directorate: Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute

The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) invites applications for a Lectureship in Global Health. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in medical or healthcare epidemiology, with a particular focus on global health, mental health, infection outbreaks in humanitarian or disaster situations, emergency capacity building and disaster public health response. HCRI is a multidisciplinary institute, and we welcome applications that will be prepared to cross disciplinary boundaries.

This lectureship is a teaching and research position aimed at complementing and developing further HCRI’s mission in global health. It will support HCRI’s expanding portfolio of online and blended programmes, and provide expertise to the intercalated iBSc Global Health programme where the Institute teaches national and international intercalating medical students, and the MSc (online) Global Health programme aimed at humanitarian professionals.

Specific teaching responsibilities will include delivering and developing new course units or adapting course units to be taught at undergraduate or postgraduate levels face-to-face and there is likely to be substantial online delivery.

For example:

Lecturing/Course convening:

  • Introduction to Global Health (undergraduate level)
  • Research Methods in Global Health (post-graduate online)

Seminars:

  • Community Approaches to Health
  • Emergency Humanitarian Assistance

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.

Blended working arrangements may be considered Please note that we are unable to respond to enquiries, accept CVs or applications from Recruitment Agencies.
