Background

Tearfund is seeking an experienced Logistician to oversee the logistics function of Tearfund’s post-earthquake recovery programme in Haiti. The programme is implementing a range of projects supported by institutional and private donors in the shelter, livelihoods, WASH, and DRR sectors

Responsibilites

- maintaining the logistics systems, and managing the logistics staff to ensure effective and timely procurement and supply of materials to the project sites, while coordinating with the field staff.
- ensuring compliance of logistics and field staff to Tearfund and donor logistics procedures through training, mentoring and monitoring;
- maintaining adequate stock control systems;
- ensuring value for money of procurement; 
- maintaining the procurement records for internal and external audit.
- oversight of the estate and associated service contracts and office equipment, 
- manage the vehicle fleet to ensure smooth operation of the programme.
- maintaining 24 hours a day IT and communication systems.

Requirements

- Excellent leadership skills and team management experience are essential requirements,
- cross-cultural awareness and a genuine heart for the poor.
- educated to degree or equivalent level
- have proven logistics experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on supply chain.
- excellent written and spoken English.
- Candidates with French language skills are encouraged

Salary

£27,330 gross per annum (pro rata to the contract length) plus competitive benefits package
