The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) is an operating division of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC). AIDR operates as a partnership between AFAC, the Australian Red Cross (ARC) and the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre (BNHCRC) under a contract with the Australian Government through Emergency Management Australia for the delivery of a range of products and professional services. This position will be employed by the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the AIDR team. The Marketing and Engagement Officer role is a newly created position responsible for the delivery and evaluation of AIDR’s partnership programs including the Resilient Australia Awards, and marketing and audience development for other events. The Marketing and Engagement Officer will be responsible for building audiences across our program of events through strong partnership with a growing and diverse set of stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of AIDR’s marketing and engagement strategy
  • Developing media, marketing and promotional opportunities
  • Creating a partnerships portfolio
  • Provide general support to the AIDR team

This hands-on role reports to the Communications Manager of the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience and is a great opportunity for someone with experience in marketing, sponsorship, development or fundraising. Tertiary qualified, you will be highly organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable. Experience within a member based organisation, not-for-profit or emergency services would be an advantage.
