ODI (www.odi.org.uk) aims to inspire and inform policy and practice to reduce poverty by locking together high-quality applied research and practical policy advice.

We are looking to appoint an experienced project and operations manager to lead the delivery of a new £9m, four-year project to develop a knowledge hub on disaster and climate resilience.

The project and operations manager will join a particularly active Adaptation and Resilience group, which has been successful in the past year in attracting a number of multi-year projects and has enjoyed increasing influence in international and national policy agendas. The project and operations manager will work closely with Dr Thomas Tanner, who leads the Adaptation and Resilience team and ODI’s Head of Climate and Environment programme Dr Tom Mitchell.

The project and operations manager will co-ordinate the establishment and delivery of a major knowledge hub to support the Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Extremes and Disasters (BRACED) programme, funded by the UK Department for International Development.

About you

As a project and operations manager, the post-holder will be responsible for overseeing the development of monitoring, evaluation, research, communications and learning services to BRACED and other programmes. You will lead delivery in line with the work plan, manage a complex consortium across five countries and co-ordinate all financial and narrative reporting. You will have strong existing experience in managing complex donor-funded programmes, be comfortable with all aspects of donor reporting, be able to work across countries and regions in a dynamic team and ideally have a personal commitment to building resilience to disaster risks and climate extremes.
