Under the overall guidance of the WR Pakistan and direct supervision of the EHA/HC coordinator and in close coordination with the National (Disaster Risk Management) DRM officer the incumbent will:

- Support the implementation of WHO DRM workplan activities at provincial level,

- Support and strengthen disaster early warning system at provincial and district levels,

- Serve as the liaison between WHO, One UN, HEPRN and PDMA structures at provincial level and all agencies working in DRM programs,

- Oversee, where applicable the UN Joint Program for Disaster Risk Management in the following tasks:
Support the development of all work plans and required proposals for the program
Oversee all the provincial activities under the Joint program
Lead the assessments of the public health risks and vulnerabilities in selected communities in identified priority districts.
Support the development of district contingency plans

- Support as required, the National Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Network of the Ministry of Health representatives bodies at the provincial level in:
Join planning, management and monitoring of the NHERPN activities,
Contribute in the formulation of comprehensive integrated plans,
Support development and analysis of reports, data , strategies, plans and any technical documents required
Organizing and participation of all relevant meetings, workshops in respective province,

- Carrying out following tasks during an emergency phase:
Identify and formulate contacts with all health sector stakeholders and support the provincial health authorities in holding regular provincial and district level coordination meetings.
Information collection (4Ws) and information dissemination to all health sector partners through Situation Reports and Health Sector/Cluster Bulletins and 4W maps.
Mobilize Health Sector/Cluster Partners to contribute to establishing and maintaining an appropriate Early Warning and Response System, and regularly report on health services delivered to the affected population and the situation in the areas where they work.
Contribute to the joint health sector analysis of health-sector information and data leading to joint identification of gaps in the health sector response and agreement on priorities to inform the development (or adaptation) of a health crisis response strategy.
Represent the Health sector in inter-sectorial/inter-cluster coordination mechanisms at provincial level, contribute to jointly identifying critical issues that require multi sectoral responses, and plan the relevant synergistic interventions with the other clusters concerned.
Promote standardized methods, tools and formats for common use in monitoring health trends, activities and outcomes to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Skills

- Speaks fluent English and local languages.
- Skills in data management, analysis and report writing.
- Experience of working with an international organization in similar field would be considered an asset.
- Willing to travel inside the country and work with communities.
