As the Global Network for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) grows we are seeking to appoint three network development officers to support the development of stronger and more cohesive civil society (DRR) networking capabilities across global, regional and national levels. The post holders will play an important role in enhancing the ability and capacity to communicate, learn across countries and regions, speak with a collective voice, collaborate and undertake join actions. Network development officers form part of the operations team who work together cross-functionally to deliver activities resulting from GNDR’s operations plan.

Overall scope of job:

As part of the operations team the Network Development Officers will support:

  1. GNDR network governance arrangements
  2. Regional/sub-regional DRR networking infrastructure/capacities
  3. Leadership/management development including resource mobilisation
  4. Knowledge exchange and management

The posts will be based in the three broad regions as above. Specific location and hosting arrangements to be agreed. These posts offer an exciting and wide-ranging challenge and tremendous scope for strengthening civil society’s contribution to disaster risk reduction.
