Global Change Research Centre AS CR, v.v.i., is looking for a full-time employee for a position of a professional researcher (postdoc category) with expertise in:

- The economic impacts of the global climate change and adaptation mechanisms specializing in quantification of socio-economic impacts of bioenergy production.

Job description:

The main scope of employment will be research and publication activities within the Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, p.r.i., in order to capture the economic impacts of environmental changes in society, economic context of adaptation strategies to climate change in the area of bioenergy at the level of both basic and applied research, including the evaluation of socio-economic impacts at local and regional level.

Required qualifications:

1. Duly completed doctoral studies at university in the CR (Ph.D.) or a comparable degree achieved at a foreign university, with a focus related to any of the following fields: environmental economics, economics or other specialization in economic disciplines.
2. Ability/experience in research in the area of socio-economic impacts of environmental changes on global or regional/local level, particularly in the field of quantitative (statistical) methods.
3. The ability of independent scientific work, including publication in journals with the IF.
4. Good knowledge of Czech or English language.
5. Capability of working with computer technology at a level usual for the position of a researcher.
6. Experience with the preparation of grant applications and implementation of research projects.

Welcomed expertise and capabilities:

1. Capability of working with statistical software.
2. General overview and orientation in the issue of economic impacts of the global change on society.
3. Experience of cooperation with foreign institutions or international organizations.
4. Previous publications in journals with the IF.
