Summary
Taranaki Regional Council has an opportunity for an experienced emergency management professional to lead the Taranaki Civil Defence Emergency Management team. Working with the communities, lifelines and emergency services, this role is integral in the promotion of preparedness and resilience in emergencies and natural disasters. The role of Senior Emergency Management Officer offers variety and challenge and a Taranaki lifestyle like no other.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need to :
- have an enthusiastic, common sense and pragmatic approach, along with a tertiary qualification or equivalent in emergency management.
- Experience at working at both a strategic and operational level within an emergency management environment is also essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- the development and implementation of CDEM plans and programmes,
- managing a small team of emergency management professionals and a large team of volunteers.
