The Institute for Sustainable Communities has TWO Senior Program Officer opportunities to lead two programs for our U.S. Climate and Environment Team.

Senior Program Officer – American Society of Adaptation Professionals
Based in either Montpelier, VT or Washington DC.

The Senior Program Officer leads a program team and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals as an ISC project. The position is currently grant funded for two years with an extension contingent upon future funding. A key task of the incumbent of this position will be to help determine whether ASAP will remain a project of ISC or a stand-alone legal entity in its own right; accordingly, the nature of this position will largely be driven by the outcome of that process. ISC anticipates remote supervision for this position.

Senior Program Officer – Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact
Based in either Montpelier, VT or Southeast Florida

The Senior Program Officer leads a program team and is responsible for the design, development and implementation of one of ISC’s domestic projects – the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact. The incumbent will manage a three year implementation grant with direction from the Program Director, Adaptation & Resilience, US Climate & Environment Programs and the Compact’s Staff Steering Committee. The position requires a significant degree of high quality coordination between the Compact parties, other key stakeholders and other ISC staff in the delivery of a series of implementation planning events, stakeholder outreach, program analysis to identify best practices in a wide range of sustainability and resilience initiatives, program design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The successful incumbent will be a highly motivated self starter as the position will be supervised remotely. Funding for the position is secure for three years after which the position is contingent upon the will of the ISC’s Compact partners and the availability of additional funding.

Extensive travel within the region (Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties) is required; some travel outside the region is required.
