GNDR invites applications for implementing Views from the Frontline 2019 as National Coordinating Organisations. VFL 2019 will be implemented in 50 countries across Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. It will capture the local perspectives on resilience, but also monitor the extent to which local actors are included in resilience planning.

As part of its commitment to ensuring an inclusive approach to the Global Platform, UNISDR invites interested Governments, UN system and stakeholder representatives to help shape the substantive sessions by joining Organizing Teams. The application process is open from 6 June until 20 June, and selected applicants will be contacted during the week of 25-29 June.

UNISDR has launched the official Call for Papers to contribute to the UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction 2019 (GAR19). This flagship report is a vehicle to show-case Member States progress towards the implementation of the Sendai Framework, to assess global risk trends, and to present innovative research and knowledge to enhance understanding of disaster risk in all its dimensions, thereby supporting risk reduction efforts.

The production of the United Nations Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction 2019 (GAR19) is underway. As part of its development process, UNISDR will launch a call for contributing papers. Further information on the main chapters and themes and guidance for the submission of abstracts will be provided on May 15th 2018.

As per the Principle Recommendations in the Expert Meeting on the Global Risk Assessment Framework in support of the Sendai Framework, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Paris Agreement, UNISDR invites Expressions of Interest to put forward nominations for consideration to be selected to join the Expert Group.
