ISSW exists to faciliate the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and experiences between snow science researchers and practioners. The motto of the ISSW is "The Merging of Theory with Practice".

AEES is a non-profit organization providing national leadership, facilitation and co-ordination of professional society activities in the practice of earthquake engineering and engineering seismology.

With a team of scientists and other dedicated professionals, the Department of Conservation administers a variety of programs vital to California's public safety, environment and economy.
