2018 Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Implementation Workshop
Call for participation
The 2018 Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Implementation Workshop, will be 31 October - 1 November, in Hong Kong, China, at Hong Kong Observatory (HKO). Documents pertaining to the Workshop events can be found at the 2018 CAP Implementation Workshop website.
CAP, designated as International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Recommendation X.1303, is broadly recognized internationally as the key standard for societies to achieve all‑hazards, all-media public alerting for emergencies.
CAP Implementation Workshops provide a forum for implementers of CAP and associated organizations to discuss how best to expand adoption of the CAP standard and to share practices among users of the standard. There is no charge to participate and anyone interested in emergency alerting is welcome: managers, technical staff, media, etc., including commercial organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations.
If you have CAP implementation experiences or insights to share, please let the Program Committee know that you want to give one of the presentations. As usual, presentations will be limited to 20 minutes each.
The 2018 CAP Implementation Workshop is co-sponsored by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), ITU, OASIS (the international standards organization that actually maintains the CAP standard), and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
