Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Knowledge for DRR in the Philippines
The Philippine Red Cross, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, University of the Philippines and the Center for Disaster Preparedness are working together to celebrate the International Day for Disaster Reduction.
On the 13 of October key actors from the Government and Civil Society Organizations in the Philippines will enable a space of dialogue to discuss the role of indigenous knowledge as a key element to build resilient communities. The organizers will present their perspectives and best practices on the topic with the aim to raise awareness and advocate for more effective integration of traditional knowledge and science in the Philippines for disaster risk reduction.
