To celebrate International Day for Disaster Reduction 2015, Plan International Bangladesh, in collaboration with Government departments (LGIs Union, sub-district and district Disaster Management Committee; Department of Disaster Management Education Authority, School, Plan’s implementing partner, NARRI consortium) conducted several events at National and district level: Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Gazipur, Dhaka and Bargunal districts.
Key activities:
- Colorful rally followed by discussion session at the sub-district, district and national level;
- Mock drill on cyclone, fire and earthquake for mass awareness raising at Plan Pus;
- Traditional game show by the community, children and school students;
- Art and essay competition among school student on disaster impacts and preparedness;
- TFD show on DRR for raising mass awareness;
- Signature campaign to increase commitment on DRR;
- Class session with school student on DRR;
- Install children’s safe school stall at district level exhibition;
- Picture exhibition capturing the disaster impact and preparedness aspect;
- Wall magazine published by school’s student.
