Caritas Internationalis is an international confederation of Catholic organisations, mandated by their respective episcopal conferences. All Member Organisations seek to contribute to the socio-pastoral mission of the Church through the spreading of solidarity and social justice. This is done without regard to creed, race, gender or ethnicity. Within this context Caritas Internationalis commits itself to: * provide a forum for dialogue and exchange among member organisations to share ideas, learn from each other and support each other’s efforts; * help member organisations build their own capacity in order to serve the poor and marginalised more effectively; * act as a voice or advocate for the cause of the poor and enabling the poor to be their own advocates; * facilitate cooperation within and beyond the Caritas Confederation.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
